This course introduces students to the foundations of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Empathy and how they are generally manifested in the worksphere. It will specify the four core principles of EQ and how they affect decision-making processes and an individual’s behaviour toward themselves and colleagues. This course aims to provide students with: An introduction to human emotions An understanding of how emotions influence how we think, act & feel The ability to read emotions in both themselves and others The ability understand how EQ affects our decisions The ability to both communicate and manage emotions An opportunity to immerse themselves in a simulated workspace and explore emotions safely
The course includes different components that constitute the final grade, first and foremost is active participation, which is crucial for this class to be a success. The nature of this course is practical and is to help students think outside of the box, speak up and reflect on personal experiences.
