(Doctor in Telecommunication Engineering by the Technical University of Madrid, and M.Sc. in Philosophy by the National University for Distance Education, UNED) Dr. Díaz-Nafría is currently a Professor at the Madrid Open University, Spain, and at the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
Between 1997 and 2009, he was an associate professor at the University Alfonso X el Sabio.
He also served as a researcher at the Technical University of Madrid (1997-2003) and the Technical University of Vienna (1996).
He has been a Visiting and Invited Professor at several universities in Europe and Latin America.
He is currently President of the International Association for the Study of Information (Austria), coordinator of the BITrum-Research Group (Spain), board member of the Institut für Design Science (Germany).
He is a member of the Institute for a Global Sustainable Information Society (GSIS, Austria) and the International Center for Information Ethics (ICIE).
He has served on the editorial boards of several scientific journals and is currently the main editor of glossariumBITri and glossaLAB.
His research focuses on the interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary study of information, communication, knowledge, systems and complexity.
